WTN: Bodega Norton Reserva Malbec 2006

by Bruce Hayes » Sat Mar 06, 2010 1:30 pm

Mendoza

Dark purple in the glass.

Nothing much on the nose.

Thick, creamy in the mouth, chocolate, spicy, black cherry, tangy acidity, roasted, but with heavy and harsh alcohol (14.5 per cent) which distracted from everything good about this wine.

Harsh finish.

Yet another red wine that, IMHO, is ruined by excessively high alcohol.

I am getting tired of this.

With most of these, Reserva just means more oak and more supermaturity, so I prefer the non Reservas.
