Didn't decant, but sipped over two hours. Medium bodied and color. Great Bordeaux nose with brambles, black currant and cedar. On the palate, all those things but more muted and sharing the spotlight with plenty of acid. Enjoyed the second hour more than the first when it seemed a bit more knit together, but I don't trust that it has the fruit to improve from here. Very good.

thanks for notes. I didn't buy many Medoc 98s, but seems many are doing better than initial rep.

Isn't that so often the case with Bdx, though? They're not for people who think 03 is a perfect vintage, but I've not been disappointed in any of mine (mind you, I only paid an average of $16 for them). A Haut Batailley a few weeks ago was quite nice, too.
