I guess patience has its virtues - I'll have to try being patient sometime!
I used to like Grgich Hills, then somehow I got away from it. I actually have a note on a bottle of '94:
Grgich Hills Napa Valley Chardonnay 1994 $19.99 Bought 6/97, Drank 4/98
Not wonderful, a bit immature, not too oaky, which is a good idea.
$20 was a chunk of change for Chard in the late 90s, but I was still getting paid for putting in face time back then. It was also before I had any significant cellar - I was stacking cases in a closet - so I didn't keep stuff very long.
