WTN: 2004 Vincent Dureuil-Janthal Rully "En Rosey" Bourgogne France. 13% alcohol. $27.00 Beekman, Glen Rock, NJ. Imported by Michael Skurnik Wines, Syosset NY.

Deep red color, deep hue, rather simple aroma of fruit and spice, hints of earth, good tastes of fruit and spice with earthen notes, medium mouth feel, excellent balance of light acidity and mild tannins, long finish with fruit, spice and earth notes. 2*.

I loved this wine on the first go, but somehow the monolithic character took over on the second and third bottles. I'ld love to recco it just because of the underlying grape ... but proceed with great caution.

Regards, Bob

Yes -- it's unusual and worth trying, but I wouldn't buy more than a bottle or two -- my guess is that it won't improve with age.

It's hard for me to understand how it could get into a dumb stage within two months -- the first bottle was just delicious, the second and third bottles were pleasant but boring.
