Who has holdings in Scharzhofberg?

by Andrew Burge » Fri Feb 26, 2010 4:38 pm

Hi everyone,

Pondering all things German now most of my 08s have finally arrived, I was wondering if someone knows who has holdings in the Scharzhofberg vineyard? I have wines from Egon Muller, Van Volxem and Reichsraf Von Kesselstadt. Are there others?

thanks

Andrew

Von Hovel (though I've not been particularly impressed by their version; thought their 05 Scharzhofberger Auslese was really disappointing considering the site) and the Bischöfliche weingut (episcopal domain).

Andrew

Which of the Van Volxem did you get? I have starting thinking about adding these onto the shopping list.

The 05 Scharzhofberg Auslese. I loaded up big time on Willi SChaefer, Schloss Lieser and Reinhold Haart, so no room for much of the VV.

I picked up more of the Emrich-Schönleber, Willi Schaefer and Schloss Lieser but sort of overlooked the Reinhold Haart. I may need to correct that oversight. I am really looking forward to the Schloss Lieser dinner with Thomas Haag on Wednesday night. I will try and take some notes and post thoughts afterwards.

I forgot to mention Emrich Schonleber, Schaefer Frohlich. And Donnhoff and Fritz Haag on order elsewhere. And I haven't contemplated Egon Muller yet. Or JJ Prum.

I do NOT have a problem. :)
