WTN: Santa Julia Reserva Malbec 2008

by Bruce Hayes » Thu Feb 25, 2010 10:41 am

Mendoza
Familia Zuccardi

Deep purple in the glass.

Spicy, light milk chocolate on the nose.

Light to medium weight, creamy milk chocolate, cherry, good acidity, drying, soft in the mouth, roasted, rough and harsh toward the end.

A drying , tangy finish.

Rather disappointing, considering the previous good experiences I have had with this line.

Purchased at $13.95 (Canadian).

Bruce, I so admire the zeal with which you taste tilt against the windmills in search of the perfect QPR. If there were a Don Quixote wine adventurer award (in the best sense of the character), you would be the perennial winner.
"I went on a rigorous diet that eliminated alcohol, fat and sugar. In two weeks, I lost 14 days." Tim Maia, Brazilian singer-songwriter.
