WTN: Descendientes de J. Palacios "Petalos" Bierzo 2004

Very young color. Medium-light body that got richer over an hour of airing. Very dry, savory and easy to drink. Clean-tasting. Easy to drink. Dried berries dominating at first. About two hours exposure to air brought out some sweetness, espresso, and chocolate/cherry aromas and flavors. Moderately complex and with a longish finish. A ver enjoyable wine at a good price.

Yes, nice wine. Spoofulated for sure, but still very nice. The Petalos is my favourite that Palacios makes - the "better" cuvées are too oaky. Even the 2003 was moderately successful despite the year. Unfortunately the importer told me that it's sold so badly that they won't take the '04. I only got a brief pour at a tasting. For the price, I agree, it's very nice.
I don't drink wine because of religious reasons ... only for other reasons.
