There's a lot of material to this Monte Bello. Yes there is oakiness on the nose, but it has all the fruit needed to back it up. The alcohol and tannins are in balance, with a lingering black fruit finish that is accented by a bit of spice and vanilla. This is very young, but shows a lot of promise. Nothing is out of proportion. Time, time, time.
