Languedoc Recommendation and WTN Requests

by Mike_F » Thu Feb 18, 2010 2:42 am

Should anybody find themselves in or around Montpellier, the winebar/restaurant/shop Les Caves de Trinque Fougasse ( http://www.trinquefougasse.com ) is well worth a visit.

Three wines picked up there, for which I will appreciate tasting notes or drinking windows -

Chateau Puech-Haut, Coteaux-du-Languedoc, Blanc (Grenache blanc, Marsanne, Roussane), Saint-Drezery, 2007

Domaine Terre Inconnue, Languedoc, Los Abuelos, Vin de Table de France, Rouge (Grenache), 2005

Clos des Augustins, Pic St Loup, Languedoc, L'Ainé (Grenache, Syrah), 2005

thanks in advance,

Mike

Mike, Hi..

I can help with one of these.

Best

Chateau Puech-Haut, Coteaux du Languedoc, Blanc, 2007: A Provencal blend of Grenache Blanc, Roussane and Marsanne, floral on the nose and with a bare hint of honey that runs through to tantalize. On the nose and palate melon, green gage plums and notes of bitter almonds, those with a hint of salty and stony minerals. At its best with spicy fish dishes. Drink now-2012. Score 87. (14 Dec 2009)

Finally got to the Clos des Augustins, Pic St Loup, Languedoc, L'Ainé (Grenache, Syrah), 2005 - Tannic, still young, multiple layers, full bodied, complex, beautiful! Wish I had another bottle...
