Solid, high-quality natural cork closure. $29.95 at Vintages.

12.5% alc./vol. Clear, bright straw yellow with a strong yellow-green tinge. Intense crystalline pineapple fruit on the nose with concentrated green Granny Smith apple reverberations; a very intense and forward nose. No gunflint aromas, however; just full-bore Chardonnay: clean and fruit-defined. Intense entry, with concentrated, powerful acidity - again, quite crystalline in nature; tense and defined; big pineappley replays all across the palate. Highly invigorating. A big wine, but big in crispness and structure; not "fat" in any way. Very clean, totally dry and strong. Minerals come into play on the mid-palate; there they join proverbial hands with the acidity and carry copious apples and pineapples on a glittering silver platter across the stage . . . but not before taking a few lingering bows.

A very nice wine that went well with stuffed roasted chicken served with a side dish of aragula salad and homemade herb-and-Dijon vinaigrette.
