Popped and poured. Deep color. Sweet and tart fruit. Dried cherries and smoked meat. A little cheesy. Fairly tannic but this was tamed sufficiently by the food. Maybe a short decant or just a bit more bottle age will soften this to make it more approachable. There's a juicy sweetness on the palate which makes it quite easy to drink. A very good, rather modern style Rioja. 70% Tempranillo, 20% Garnacha, 10% Graciano and Mazuelo. 24 months in French and American oak.
Three be the things I shall never attain:
Envy, content, and sufficient champagne.
