AC Côtes du Rhône-Villages
Les Vignobles Foncalieu

First night

Decanted about 45 minutes before the meal.

Dark purple in the glass.

Incredibly firm, bitter and tannic.

Contents of decanter put back in the bottle and bottle put in the fridge with no cork.

Second night

Decanted again.

Still somewhat tight, but much more open and soft than it was a mere 24 hours ago. Black cherry, raspberry, heavily roasted, drying, medium weight, good mouthfeel, spicy, quite drying toward the end.

A drying finish.

Not really enjoyable, but interesting to see the changes from one night to the next.

Purchased at $14.94 (Canadian).
