WTN: 2004 Gunderloch Riesling Dry

by David M. Bueker » Fri Feb 05, 2010 8:26 am

Going on 6 years old, this wine is starting to evolve a bit. It's still a mineral feast ( as it was on release and a year ago as well), but some smoky notes are emerging, with the structure of the wine starting to soften just a bit. Overall it's a more austere style of Riesling, and if you are sensitive to SO2 then decant the wine (30 minutes in the glass took care of it for me) for maximum enjoyment.
