WTN: Chappellet Cabernet Sauvignon 1996

by Bruce Hayes » Thu Feb 04, 2010 10:11 am

Napa Valley

Decanted about 20 minutes before the meal.

Good deep red in the glass.

Earthy, forest floor, leather, cherry cough drops, spicy and sweet fruit on the complex nose.

Medium weight, black cherry, plummy, smoky, good acidity, tarry, black olives, spicy, dark chocolate, fairly full in the mouth.

Mouthwatering on the finish.

A beautifully mature wine.
