Arista Winery Sonoma

by David Mc » Tue Feb 02, 2010 6:16 pm

Anyone familiar with Arista winery in Sonoma (RRV)? They are offering their 2008 for sale:

2008 Sonoma County Pinot Noir ($32)
2008 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir ($36)
2008 Russian River Valley Pinot Noir ($44)
2008 Sonoma Longbow Pinot Noir ($48)

I had the 2007 Longbow when I visited them back in August and it was outstanding, so I'm going to get a few of those. Any recommendations as to the others?

In the notes, it indicates that the Sonoma county is ready to drink now but but the others could be cellared for a few years (5-7 for the longbow and 4-5 for the coast and RRV). Does this make a difference?

Thanks,

Dave

Haven't tried these, but we had the 2005 Sonoma Valley the other night, and it was excellent.... reasonably good values, and as you know from visiting, a wonderful setting for a winery, with an interesting history.
Cheers, Jim
