2006 Jacques Puffeney Arbois Pinot Noir Jura 13.0%
On the heels of the previous evening's 06 Puffeney Poulsard, last night we opened his PN from the same year and liked it even more. Much darker, plum colored. Aromas are cherry and prunes, with a touch of forest floor. Bright acidity, medium tannins, and light bitterness combine to pucker the tongue, all balanced by a fine, juicy sweetness. Already balanced before food, remained so after. Attractive, too, for having a clear, yet somehow not Burgundian, pinosity. One of the more enjoyable non Burg pinots that I've tried.
