WTN: Sweet Cheeks '05 Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley, Oregon

The owner of this estate was kind enough to give me a bottle of their Sweet Cheeks '05 Estate Pinot Noir when I was in Eugene for a SWE conference a few years ago. I liked the wine (better than most others) at a "walk-around" tasting we did one evening, and when I asked where I could buy a bottle, she said they were growers and only bottled a few barrels for their personal use, so she just gave me a bottle. Located in Crow, Oregon, I think they are now bottling and selling some, if not all, of their production, and a good move I would say. Check it out if you can find it. This has improved in the bottle and showed nice black and red fruit, some earthiness, and nice length (12.8% ABV). A real pleasure to drink with French onion soup, Caesar's salad and baked chicken.
