WTN: Luigi Bosca Reserva Syrah 2006

by Bruce Hayes » Fri Jan 29, 2010 10:07 am

Maipú, Mendoza

Decanted about 45 minutes.

Purple in the glass.

Smoky, chocolate, spicy, floral on the nose.

Smoky, quite tangy, earthy, black cherry, raspberries, cranberry, medium weight, tarry, floral, black and red licorice, spicy, drying.

Tangy and drying on the finish.

An okay wine, but nothing special.

Purchased at $14.95 (Canadian).

I've enjoyed the Bosca malbecs, also. Still...this Syrah sounds pretty nice for $14.99. Certainly better than a "Central Coast Appellation" blueberry juice alcohol delivery device.
