WTN: Santa Julia Chardonnay Reserva 2008

by Bruce Hayes » Thu Jan 28, 2010 9:43 am

Mendoza
Familia Zuccardi

Light to medium yellow in the glass.

Honeyed, spicy on the nose.

Medium weight, oily, orange, apple, honeyed, tangy acidity, quite rich, lightly creamy, spicy, bitter citrus rind bite toward the end, very clean.

Peppery, mouthwatering with some citrus rind on the finish.

A lovely little wine: delicious and rich, but with enough acidity to keep everything clean and lively. Yum.

Purchased at $13.95 (Canadian) and good QPR at that.

I've had a late harvest Torrontes from Santa Julia that was quite nice.
