I paid $13 and have NEVER seen it for $10. Where do you find it for $10? It is a nice little qba at that price.

It's currently $9.50 @ Zachys, and $8-9 all over NJ. I've never paid more than $10-11!

That's almost as good of a deal as the empty bottle of 1996 DRC La Tache that I picked up for $70 on Ebay. A damn fine bottle it was too!

PS: 'Dr. L' is Bill Paumen's favorite Riesling. I might just make a gift of it to him.

Hey, that's a steal for such an investment. Just fill that bottle with Carlo Rossi Burgundy, cork it and foil it, and for $74, you have something worth $1500!

The Dr Loosen Urziger Wurzgarten Riesling-Auslese is about $A40 for a half bottle in Australia on release. Langtons, a local auction house, has quite a lot of the 05 at the moment with an estimate range of $200 to $250.

I must admit the quoting of the critic's score, plus stating it's stunning ( ) 76th place in a WS top 100 that was very much about value not quality, gave the impression of a get-rich-quick merchant chancing their arm. Off camera I'd call them something stronger.

Not a stupid estimate, but a seedy attempt to make a fast buck off some naive shmuck.

Currently $8 at Zachys

While I'm a big consumer protection guy in general, I think one shouldn't be shopping in auctions unless you have a good feel for market (and check Winesearcher or another pricing site_

Dale
Indeed and with some of the stuff that goes on at auctions, buyers need very much to beware.

well, no bids last week, but lot came back this week with a $15 start. Someone bid $15 for all 6, but he's been outbid for 5 of them =bidding's up to $20!
C'mon folks, who'll go $25?

http://www.winebid.com/buy_wine/item_de ... 7158-D4346

This wine is available for $8, there are about about 40 places across nation that have it
under $10, yet people are bidding $20 PLUS VIG and shipping. Mind
boggling.

Wow. Information asymmetry leads to some rather surprising things.
