Just wondering if any fellow Ontarians browsing the forum have seen or heard of any 2005 reds being released at Niagara wineries so far. I know that typically there is a lag time due to oak ageing, but with some unoaked reds that time is clearly cut down.
2005 was no doubt one of the best years we've had since 1998, and I'm sure that the vinifera reds will reflect that fact - although production may be small with the viniferas due to winter kill in the previous years.
As I recall, 1998 even managed to produce Cab Sauvignon from Niagara that was properly blackcurranty, rather than the usual overload of green pepper.
Any news or updates would be appreciated.
