2005 Faiveley Mercurey La Framboisière
Bright, tight & refreshingly red fruited (tart cherries). This is the acidic side of Pinot Noir. It's good, but it's also closed and in need of food.

2008 Pali Wine Co. Pinot Noir Bluffs (Russian River Valley)
Another country heard from. This is still red fruit, but sweet red fruit - think raspberries. It's ripe in a California style, but there is nothing overly alcoholic about it, and the left coast cola element is evident but not overwhelming. I very much like these Pail "appellation" wines.

Odd that I would prefer the California wine, but tonight that is the case.

Burgundy almost always needs food, at least at the price point I drink.
Yes, and how many deaths will it take 'til he knows
That too many people have died?
The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind
The answer is blowin' in the wind.
