Last and final call for MoCool!

by Robin Garr » Tue Aug 22, 2006 10:23 am

The organizers sent around one last reminder this morning:

You can still sign up. Barely. Do it NOW!

"Just think… a mere $45 and a BYO bottle or two of good 1990, dessert wine or bubbly per person, gets you spectacular food and tastes from upwards of 150+ other rare and fine wines."

And, I would add, a rare opportunity to meet and share good wine and food with a lot of WLDGers and other online wine geeks.

If you're anywhere within range of Ann Arbor on Saturday or can somehow arrange to be, you really owe it to yourself to experience MoCool.

Although I like to cook relatively simple foods and pair wines with meals, I've never considered myself a foodie. This menu now confirms that I am not a foodie. Although I'm familiar with some (but not all) of the ingredients listed, I've never had any of the dishes listed in the menu. So this is going to be a culinary adventure for me and I'm looking forward to it. :P

You are in for a TREAT. Some of the best meals I have ever had in my life were prepared by Alan (aka zinfan).

And if you (or anyone else) could just make to Buffalo by Friday morning, I could use a traveling partner, as I'm driving alone.

Just wondering if anyone knows when maps and directions will be sent out to those of us who have registered. I know - we've been there before, but it's a little tricky to find the place, I tell ya.

Thanks!

the trick with the directions

by Jay Baldwin » Tue Aug 22, 2006 5:16 pm

The directions are in the hands of all the organizers, but the sign-up list with email addresses isn't (i.e. not in MINE). Not to say we don't know who has signed up or anything, BUT at the moment I've been unable to find out who does have that info, and whoever does have it has not sent out directions. I'm a little frustrated myself.

Map and directions just went out to everyone who signed up, to the email address provided.

If you have signed up and have NOT received your directions to the picnic, let a MoCool organizer know ASAP!

Hi Robin:

I recieved the menu but not the directions. Should I be concerned?
The PayPal account has ben "Hit" for the $90 so all should be good.

Can't wait to experience this for the first time.

Thanks Jay. That's at home and I'll have it tonight.

Alyce and I are very excited to meet all of you.

We are a bit nervous, wo want to make sure the wines that we bring are "worthy"

OW Holmes has kept us informed about this event for almost 2 years and this is the first one that we can attend and we are REALLY looking forward to it.

See you this weekend

On behalf of the organizers, we're very pleased to have you join us as a MoCool rookie, Bob!

FYI to all: picnic attendance is expected to be around 85-90 people this year. A nice-sized crowd IMHO!
