WTN: 2001 Le Bon Pasteur

2001 Château Le Bon Pasteur (Pomerol)

Expansive, broad, warm fruit with mellow oaky middle and soft dark flavors of espresso/coffee. Some floral notes round out the palate. Very very nice in a modern but not over the top style. This is a bit on the young side, although it is drinking well enough that it's not a crime to open now. The bit of mellow maturity hints at what it will become. Very nice. Drink now and for the next 10 years.

Pretty much sums up my experiences from other vintages that I had from this producer.

I had this last fall & agree with your assessment.

Of course I though that this bottling was one that was supposed to represent all that was wrong with Bordeaux. It didn't.
