WTN: Leitz Riesling Kabinett 2004

by Bruce Hayes » Mon Jan 04, 2010 7:35 pm

Josef Leitz
Rheingau

Light gold in the glass.

Petrol on the nose.

Quite rich and intense, honeyed, petrol, light grapefruit, green apple, slightly prickly on the tongue, medium weight, fleshy and juicy, good acidity, spicy, refreshing.

Very rich and nicely balanced between the juicy fruit and honey and the cleansing acidity.

Mouthwatering, honeyed, spicy and green apples on the finish.

A lovely Riesling.

Purchased at $15.45 (Canadian).

Just a plain kabinett with no vineyard attribution?

Ah! So clearly this is some special bottling for the Candian market and palate. Must have maple in it or something.
