Question RE: JACQUES PRIEUR MUSIGNY GRAND CRU BURGUNDY 1995

by Brian Jay » Mon Jan 04, 2010 4:05 pm

I have a chance to buy (what I THINK is) a fantastic case of very rare (limited production) JACQUES PRIEUR "MUSIGNY" GRAND CRU BURGUNDY 1995. BUT! I CAN NO'T SEEM TO FIND ANYONE SELLING IT, OR ANY REVIEWS ABOUT IT!?? Why? I know the 1996 is like $800 OR $900 a bottle (or something like that) I can get A FULL SEALED 6 bottle case of 1995 for $1200 (or $200 a bottle) From a wine cellar in Greenwich, CT.

is this a great wine, and is this a great deal !??

Thanks, in advance !

Never had it, though I didn't really love the couple Prieur Musignys I've had (85 was tired). But lots of people like the producer. $1200 for 6 seems fair. CT shows $207 average for Winebid for the '95 , decent reviews:

No one is selling it currently in US, but it was $150-200 a few years ago.

Brian, welcome to our forum, but is this a legitimate question on your own behalf or are you possibly trying to attract buyers to a product you're actually trying to sell? Don't mean to sound unfriendly, but I've received several PM's from forum regulars concerned that the latter is the case--they know we don't allow that kind of post. If they're wrong, I'd appreciate your responding to confirm that, and would also like to let you know that cellartracker.com has three notes on the '95. In the meantime, however, I've removed your email address from your sig line.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov
