-2008 Weingut Ackermann Zeltigener Sonnenuhr Spatlese
Light gold.
Very light nose, some green melon & green apple, still very faint.
Smooth & creamy with lots of tropical fruit, melon and lilac. Comes on sweet and thick but has a nice balance and clean finish.
-2004 Markus Molitor Zeltigner Sonnenuhr Auslese
Brilliant pale gold.
Delicate fruity nose, citrus and white flower
Very classy style, rich fruit, lighter body than the Ackermann. Elegant layers of flavor that keep opening up. Finishing crisp and clean with hints of hard candy.
Great balance and depth.
Both wines were very enjoyable. I wonder how close these parcels are in relationship to each other. I would think that if these wines were tasted blind you would be able to guess Zeltigen right off the bat.
thanks Michael

I think just a little bit of prior knowledge about the wines of Zeltingen would be necessary for that!

I've had a lot of wines from Zeltingen, but I confess I'm generally happy to accurately guess Mosel.
