wtn: fresh guava, pineapple, honey, hay, richness, and lightness all in sweet combination, the 1999 Wehlener Sonnenuhr auslese is open for enjoyment. I broke it out because of a recent note in cellartracker, and because my wife retired today after spending the last 10 years of her work life with the state of California. I couldn't think of a better wine she would enjoy to celebrate those last 10 years. It is a lovely wine, and quite ready to reveal its complex nature. The label came off in my humid cellar, so I can't tell you the ap #, but I will simply say hurrah for JJ Prum. Jim

Congratulations to your wife on the retirement. This must have been an especially emotional year to bow out of the CA state government employ.

And the wine doesn't sound too shabby either!

Sounds delicious. Now your dear wife has more time to raid the cellar!
