WTN: Quinta de Azevedo Vinho Verde 2007

by Bruce Hayes » Tue Dec 22, 2009 9:50 am

A 70-30 Loureiro-Pederoa blend.

Light yellow in the glass.

Nothing much on the nose.

Prickly on the tongue, lemon, tart green apple, peppery, light bodied, clean and refreshing.

Lightly drying on the finish with mouthwatering Granny Smith apples.

Lacking a bit of freshness, but still an enjoyable wine.

Purchased at $11.95 (Canadian).

Where did you get an '07 Vinho Verde? I like to drink the most recent vintage. Sorry this wasn't a pleasure. Vinho Verde is a great party wine, usually available at a much better price too.
Yes, and how many deaths will it take 'til he knows

I think I bought a couple of bottles a little while ago and this is the last. BTW, $11.95 is a pretty good price for Ontario.

I am sorry about the price Bruce. In the US you can still get quaffable Vinho Verde at about half that price. Of course good Vinho Verde is going to cost more, but it should give more enjoyment than you seem to have received.
