WTN: Finca Flichman Paisaje De Barrancas 2006

by Bruce Hayes » Mon Dec 21, 2009 10:09 am

Mendoza

A blend of Syrah (75 per cent), Malbec (20) and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Decanted about 90 minutes before supper. Note: The wine didn't need to be decanted this long, I simply made a mistake about the time we would be eating.

Very dark purple in the glass.

A lovely nose: chocolate, cedar, red licorice, spicy, rich berry fruit.

Very rich, fleshy and juicy black cherry, raspberry and red currants, tangy, dark chocolate, medium weight, cedar, drying, red licorice, dense, tobacco.

Sweet fruit on the very long finish.

Very plush, rich and intense. Went very well with a roast beef.

Purchased at $17.95 (Canadian).

Good note Bruce. I always find the Flinchman line a tad overpriced in our area for a qpr wine. I am glad you enjoyed it.
Yes, and how many deaths will it take 'til he knows
That too many people have died?
The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind

Thanks for the note. I have a bottle of the 2005 in the cellar, didn't know what to do with it!
Cheers!
Mike
