wtn: 1999 Nackenheim Rothenberg Rieling Auslese from Gunderloch--Delicious, gulpable but complex riesling with a yeasty nose at opening, then showing apricots, peaches, pineapple, stones, and diesel, with an unctuous and sweet taste that is seamless, and shows the complexity of a good German riesling. My wife said " Ah, you opened something good tonight." The sweetness will probably drop out a bit in a few years, and it might gain even more complexity, but it is quite good at the moment. It doesn't reach the heights this vineyard and producer can deliver, but it is very good nonetheless. Long finish, nice acidity too. 9% alcohol, ap # 43790431200. Purchased in 2005 from Dee Vine Wines on sale for $12.
