This is the very first 2001 Riesling that I have had where I can say it is fully developed. There's still some primary fruit, but it is playing a supporting role to smoky/piney/creamy elements that have emerged in the bottle. The acidity is bracing, and the finish is long and creamy with a apple skin bite that is very refreshing.
I am not usually impressed by Loosen wines but this has developed very well.
