Opened a 2002 Foppiano Petite Sirah few days ago. Seven years out, this wine is still a baby. The fruit is very evident but the tannins may need a couple more years. I would have assumed that seven years would have been adequate. I have few more bottles left.

Petite Sirah sometimes seems immortal. That said I would wait another 2 years on this one.

I don't have much on the 2002. I opened a bottle of Foppiano 2001 Reserve PS last May and noted, "Drinking beautifully. Strong tannins and deep dark fruit in great balance. At least 5 or 10 years ahead of it."
