WTN: Chateau Du Prieure Des Mourgues 2007

AC Saint-Chinian
Vignoble Roger

A blend of Syrah, Grenache, Mourvedre and Carignane.

Good dark red in the glass.

Spicy, cherry, smoky with a hint of alcohol on the nose.

Cinnamon, cloves, nicely tangy, rich cherry fruit, medieum weight, viscous/creamy, red licorice, with a bit of harsh alcohol toward the end.

With time, the wine took a turn for the worse, becoming thinner and showing more alcohol.

A tangy, mouthwatering finish, with some alcohol.

A very enjoyable wine, until the alcohol started showing through.

Purchased at $15.95 (Canadian).
