... with a great new wine!
New to me anyway.
Down on the bottom shelf of the slot allotted to Spanish wines at BevMo was a bottle of Rueda. As I try to always buy at least one wine that I know nothing whatever about, and I wanted some white (this was Rueda blanco), and it was $10.99, I bought it.
Night before last I was cooking some chicken with lemon, garlic and white wine and poking around on my spreadsheet I noticed "Las Brisas Rueda 07" and said, "What the h-e-double-toothpicks!" (Not wanting to alarm any elderly maidens who might have been nearby.)
My note: Good Wine!!! Tart, spicy, flavorful, light texture, really good and excellent value! I want more. 12.5% alcohol
I rushed right down and bought one of the last two bottles on the shelf, for cracked Dungeness crab on Sunday.
(What's in Rueda, anyway?)
