WTN: Graham Beck Pinotage 2008

by Bruce Hayes » Wed Dec 09, 2009 7:42 pm

WO Coastal Region

Dark red in the glass.

Band aid, roasted notes, cherry on the nose.

Medium weight, band aid, tangy, smoky, a little bubbly/prickly on the tongue, roasted/charred notes, juicy and fleshy black cherry, good acidity, nice mouthfeel, spicy, leathery.

Band aid, roasted notes and tangy on the finish.

Quite tasty and enjoyable.

Purchased at $14.95 (Canadian).

Hi Bruce

Graham beck produce 3 Pinotages, Pinotage, Pinno and The Old Road. Was yours the 'Pinno' as that is WO Western Cape and the Pinotage is WO Coastal?

Took another look at the bottle and it simply says "Pinotage." Well, it doesn't say it...I have to read it. The back label states WO Coastal Region.

Bruce, thanks

I must have been having a brain storm because I thought I read WO Western Cape. Sorry, yes the 'standard' middle of the range Pinotage is the one you had. The Old Road is a single vineyrad and the Pinno is a 'fun' wine.
