Shipping Wine to Jamaica??

by Josh » Mon Dec 07, 2009 4:05 pm

I have several clients in Jamaica who enjoy the red wine and i would like to send them each a bottle. Probably 4 -5 bottles to separate places.

I couldn't find a local shop in Kingston on the internet (need to look harder) which would be easiest.

Assuming I wanted to ship from the states what do you think would be the easiest route. Get a wine wholesaler to do it for me? Just buy some bottles and ship it myself?

Liable to be an expensive proposition, since you're involving customs through the various an sundry import/export laws of sovereign countries.

Your cheapest way would be to contact a wine shop in Jamaica and arrange for them to provide it to your friends (through pickup or delivery). Assuming the wine is already there, that is. If not, see if the wine retailer can get it.

You might, conceivably be able to ship it to your friends. But customs agents are not the most forgiving and friendly folks, I've found. (Depends on the country too.)

All cool. Found a friendly wine guy in Kingston who responded immediately. Cheers
