Came across this on a producer's tasting note the other day

"Aromas of warm summer evenings ...."

That gives you lots of clue to the scent. Without googling, what kind of wine do you this could be?

Probably white, maybe a viognier?
If it's a NZ wine, of course, chances are it's one of the Two Big Guns of NZ. :D

If you live close to the sewage treatment plant, it could be any seriously flawed wine!

Mark's answer is spookily close to our truth once a month if the wind direction and cleaning cycle connect!

Arguably I'd vaguely support the concept of the smell of an 'early summer morning' - for me there seems to be a distinctive smell/feel to the air.

Whether this is worse than the taste of "swooping paving slabs" (Victoria Moore, Guardian newspaper) I'm not sure.

It all depends what flowers and trees grow locally.

Warm summer evenings around here bring aromas of oil refineries. :(
