On the nose, frying bacon, cocoa powder and tobacco smoke. Give this a bit of air. Sweet fruit and grippy tannins. This sits rather lightly in the mouth. Ripe crunchy red berries. Rhone-like dried herbs. Cocoa again. Quite complex. Virtually zero oak. Easy to drink. Firm structure due to the healthy acidity and tannins. Long, spicy finish. Could probably improve with a bit more bottle age although it's very good now. Those looking for a a big milk-shake style had best avoid this but those who like a more elegant expression of Zinfandel will be pleased with this effort.

Envy, content, and sufficient champagne.
