WTN: 2003 Quinta do Crasto Reserva Old Vines

2003 Quinta do Crasto Reserva Old Vines Douro 14.5%
From 70 year old vines, aged 20 months in French and American oak, bottled unfiltered. Kirsch, coffee and toast. Velvety mouth feel with grippy tannins. Satisfying body, good acidity (considering the vintage), and good acid/sweet balance. A wee bit too hot, should be better integrated in 2 or 3 years (but the bottle emptied quickly).
"I went on a rigorous diet that eliminated alcohol, fat and sugar. In two weeks, I lost 14 days." Tim Maia, Brazilian singer-songwriter.

What a coincidence Oswaldo. I took same wine down to Devines for staff Xmas party on Sunday. Thanks for the note!
