Brasserie Lebbe L'Amalthée. Villefranque, France (saison/farmhouse ale) from bottle - imported to USA by Charles Neal Selections, Richmond, California – appears orange, smell orange sherbet, taste lively yummy orange, then onto bitterness, full on, still not overpowering, fantastic combination of interesting and refreshing flavors, great balance, frothy foam, tart funness, yum, well worth returning to

2009 Sierra Nevada Harvest Wet Hop Ale 13th Release. Chico, California. (american india pale ale) from bottle with crown cap – smell fresh basic hops, basic profile on nose, mouthfeel rounded but spritzy, foamy, taste cleansing bitterness, young hops, clean, even and green, refreshing and good

And, the first collaboration between two of my favorite brewers was a delicious success:
Sierra Nevada/Dogfish Head Life and Limb. Chico, California (american strong ale) from 24oz crown cap bottle – appears very dark, tan head, smell dark earth and dried plums, mouthfeel slithery and amazingly light, taste delicious outstanding mix of savory earth, dried fruits, delicious flavors, lots of oomph but perfectly contained, a beer you just enjoy drinking and also makes for a great breakfast beer pairing beautifully with scrambled eggs with spinach and chorizo and rosemary multigrain toast, stunningly good beer, expensive but worth it

Interesting bi-coastal collaboration. What exactly did Dogfish add to the mix? Flying out to exchange ideas?

Sounds like nice beers.

They collaborated on the yeast, and contributed the maple syrup from a farm owned by the head of Dogfish--albeit in Massachusetts, not in Delaware.

They evidently also have a second-press run of the beer called Limb and Life--I'll have to work on finding that available on draft . . .

Interesting. 'Collaborated on the yeast'. Sounds like a mad science experiment.

But evidently a delicious one!
