WTN: Famiglia Bianchi Malbec 2006

by Bruce Hayes » Mon Nov 30, 2009 9:44 am

San Rafael, Mendoza
Valentin Bianchi

Purple in the glass.

Harsh alcohol initially. Later sweet berry fruit on the nose.

Medium body, juicy, black cherry, blueberry, currants, chocolate, spicy, round and smooth in the mouth, red licorice, good acidity, creamy, with some mild alcohol poking through.

Raspberry, blueberry, drying on the fairly long finish.

A nice wine which would have been even nicer at a few dollars cheaper.

Purchased at $16.95 (Canadian).

Bianchi is good. Sells well here I think.
Malbec this month by the looks of it Bruce. Tim is planning an Open Mike: Cahors. What is available in Ontario?
