Amador County, CA. 14.5% alcohol by volume.
Dark purple color; opaque. Ripe berries on the nose and palate. Without food, I notice a jammy quality that eluded me at the Fayetteville Wine Society meeting where I tasted it with turkey and stuffing. It comes across as sweet although I'm sure it was vinified to be dry. Pleasant fruity core backed up by subtle oak. Long finish turns a touch tart. I like this and have two more bottles. A good match to spicy stuffing or sharp cheeses. Might work with a meaty lasagna or manicotta. Very reasonably priced at under $20.
