Fife Redhead and French Chenin Blanc

2008 Domaine La Grange Tiphaine "Bel Air (Sec)" Touraine Amboise.

This wine made me very happy. A hint of sweetness on the citrus fruit, lovely mouth feel, and delicious savory minerality from the limestone. Fantastic and very slurpable. May not be profound or intellectual...just delicious. I think I pad $15 for this at K&L Wines. :P

2002 Fife Redhead (Mendocino, Redwood Valley) Petit Sirah.

Petit Sirah seems to make either goopy blueberry milkshakes or lean, tart cranberry wines. This was the latter. Only 13.5% abv. Very tart red fruit, but a fantastic, delicious blast of black pepper that I like in wines.

Quite a colorful recent history associated with this winery. :? http://www.theava.com/06/0510-bergner.html

The winery appears to be still in operation, under the foundign owner.
