I've never heard of a sparkling marsanne, and really can't imagine what it would be like. I suspect that given an option for the Dressner, or the Tahbilk, I probably would pick the Tahbilk. I have had the 2006 Tahbilk still marsanne and like all young Tahbilk marsanne it just pretty much lays there, This makes it difficult to judge (for me at least). However, all the Tahbilks I have had seem to need some time, perhaps 2-3 years to start coming together. A couple months ago I found some 2006 Ch. Beauchene marsanne and was not impressed at all. It was a deep bronze color, and tasted old and tired already. I do not believe it had been heated or otherwise mistreated, it just wasn't what I want in a marsanne. Dressner brings in some really good wine, but there is little distribution of them outside of NYC. So, I doubt I will get a chance at it.
