2006 Luca (Laura Catena) Pinot Noir Altos de Mendoza 13.9%
Heavy, thick bottle. Forgiven because lower than 14.0% alcohol. High toned cherry and oak vanilla aromas. Good weight, good acidity (possibly 100% natural, as claimed), good acid/sweet balance. Flavor is serious, but a bit one dimensional. I am happy that it is not jammy and/or hot, but I'd like more nuance and complexity for the carbon footprint. May just need more time to reveal itself.
"I went on a rigorous diet that eliminated alcohol, fat and sugar. In two weeks, I lost 14 days." Tim Maia, Brazilian singer-songwriter.
