WTN: 2006 Roland Tissier et Fils Sancerre (white wine)

Chavignol district in the Loire region. Purchased from Elliott's on Linden Wine Shop, Pinehurst after a tasting there. Imported by Turner Wine Imports, Morrisville, NC.
12.5% abv.
Color is pale and the wine is transparent in the glass. Nice grapefruit/lemon notes. Some elegance. Slightest grassy element but more citric than vegetal. Very nice example of Sancerre Sauvignon Blanc. Good with a chicken marsala and linguine and green beans.

Nice to see a Sancerre TN. Welcome to the Loire-head crew here JC but guess you have been "loire-ing" before!

Yes, more with Sauvignon Blanc and a few Pinot Noirs than with other varieties.

I would imagine that you can get some fair prices down your way. Discounts etc. Entry Sancerre is $35 here!

That is expensive. That's more what I would expect to pay for a Cotat from a noted vineyard.
