WTN: Chateau Val Joanis Tradition Syrah 2006

AC Luberon

Purple in the glass.

Light black cherry, gently plummy on the nose.

Light to medium weight, peppery, smoky, quite tangy, floral, dried herbs, currants, raspberry, black cherry, red licorice, drying, quite a lean structure, tastes quite mature.

Red licorice, floral, raspberry on the very long finish.

A very odd wine, quite restrained and appearing much older than its three years.

Purchased at $15.95 (Canadian).
