2005 Seven Hills Cabernet Sauvignon (Reserve, I think) from Walla Walla, WA.
Solid and tasty with pleasant Cabernet aromatics of cassis, cedar and herbal notes and a faint toasty element, but a little dull and one-dimensional in the mouth without much presence on the palate and finish. No complaints, but nothing I would go out of my way to look for.

2007 Knoll Durnsteiner Kellerberg Riesling Smaragd from Wachau, Austria
This on the other hand is a stunner and hooks you from the first sip. Starts out with bright white fruits, touches of honey and citrus - and then with time the minerality just develops and builds, until an hour later it feels like something that might have been carved out of a slab of rock. Power and depth with very little apparent weight, tremendous balance and length. Great wine.

Hey, didn't I buy some of that with you! :D

Glad to hear that it is drinking well. I was looking at my bottles this weekend and almost opened one, but went with an 04 Alzinger instead. That didn't suck either. But now I can look forward to this!
