WTN: Terra Barossa Cuvee 2007

by Bruce Hayes » Tue Nov 10, 2009 9:35 am

Thorn-Clarke
Barossa
A blend of Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot.

Dark purple in the glass.

Cedar, spicy on the nose.

Medium weight, very high acidity, rich cherry, raspberry, blueberry, currants, chocolate, drying, heavily charred, rather harsh.

Tangy, harsh and rough, with some raspberry on the finish.

I really liked the rich fruit, but the high acidity and roughness eventually dominated. Not nice.

Purchased at $14.95 (Canadian).

I am surprised this wine did not show up Bruce. Wonder what went wrong?

I was surprised as well. Terra Barossa is usually dependable and recently I have enjoyed their Riesling and Chardonnay.
